


I had some wonderful tamales and, of course, a margarita because you can't come to México and not have a margarita.
Next, I took a taxi to the Zócalo in downtown to check out the festivities.

Ok. Before I can show you anything else, I need to talk a little bit about Independence in Mexico. On 16 de septiembre de 1810 Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a catholic priest, gave El Grito de Dolores that started the Mexican fight for independence from Spain. They finally defeated Spain in 1821. So on el 16 de septiembre every year they have a big celebration. An especially big one here in the capital (which of course is why I came).
This is Mexico's presidente Felipe Calderón Hinojosa. He comes out and gives his version of El Grito de Dolores (which was just a battle cry) and then he rings a big bell at the palace and they sing Mexico's national anthem.

How do you celebrate the U.S.A.'s Independence Day?
Also, I am not a really great decision maker, so I need your help. You see I am in Mexico for a few days yet and where should I go next??

Give me some good reasons why because I really am bad at decision making.
En U.S.A. we usually have fiestas. And spend tiempo with amigos y familia. And we watch fuegos artificiales.
ReplyDeleteYo would choose Plonco. Yo would choose Plonco porque it sounds like it has muchos interesante. Y por lo que parece it es beautiful.
En my familia, I usually take siestas the whole time. THen maybe a cookout at abuelas. Then more siestas.
ReplyDeleteYo would visitia Polanco porque is it a nice ciudad and has a nice urban yet rural area. I don't like ciudads to have too much urbaness to them so I would escoger Polanco si.
Yo cree que tú ir a Plnco porque hotél bueno. Y mucho artes.

Yo should go to visitia Polance por que it is beautiful,
because it is cultural, and because it the best shopping district
how i celebrate independence day is by going to go watch fireworks with family and friends!!! also we go to a friends house that sunday or when they have it and play volleyball and eat there too!!!

ReplyDeleteI think you should go visit Polanco because it is a very wonderful looking place to visit with some very bonita hotels and resturant. El templo Mayor is an old building and im not into the historical buildings as much as i would be interested in Polanco because Polanco is a more modern looking place.

En mi familia we usually have fiestas and watch fuegos artificiales at night, we also go to the lake and watch them from the boat.

Yo am bad at decsions cause i don't really know if yo am making the right one. So for mi it would be hard to decide on things.

ReplyDeleteNext, I think you should go to Monterrey. It is a beautiful city, and it has lots of attractions. People usually overlook this city, but you will be surprised if you go here.
Mi sustantivo es Polanco. Porque seems muy interesante y grande. Hotel es muy bonita!

El piramide en Palenque es muy grande y viejo tambien. !Pero el piramide tiene muchos pases!
